The requirements below apply only to masterstudents who started their master in February of
2008 or earlier. Students who started in September 2008 are not obligated to collect seminar points,
but only to present their thesis during one of the seminars. All students are of course welcome to
attend the seminars.
All students have to attend at least 20 talks in order to complete the course. Seminar AI
organizes during a year a minimum of 16 seminars. To collect further points, students can also attend
other seminars, lectures or symposia. Of course, their subject has to fit within the framework of artificial
intelligence. If you have doubts whether the lecture you want to attend fullfills this requirement, you can
send an e-mail to Thomas.Mueller@phil.uu.nl for approval of the subject.
As from 2007-2008, it is no longer necessary to write an abstract of all seminars you've attended.
Only when you are visiting lectures that are not organized by the Seminar AI, you are asked to give a short
summary or abstract of the talk (approximately 200 words). You can send these abstracts to
Sebastian.Lutz@phil.uu.nl.
