Ernst-Otto Onnasch is specialized in the history
of modern philosophy, modern metaphysics and epistemology. Within that field he
specifically concentrates on Classical German Philosophy (from Kant to Hegel)
and its idea of the "System of Reason" and German Enlightenment.
- Current projects on Kant focus on the System of Reason (System der Vernunft)
in his critical period and Opus postumum;
- Kant's Philosophy of Nature, forthcomming is an anthology of papers on this
subject at De Gruyter;
- Reception of Kant in the Netherlands;
- "Aufklärung and Verlichting", Interaction of German and Dutch Enlightenment,
in preparation is an exemplary study of the role of the Legatum Stolpianum (Leyden)
from 1754 till 1800 in Germany, with an edition of new manuscripts;
- The early Hegel till 1800;
- Kantianism at the Tübingen Stift;
- Karl Leonhard Reinhold, forthcomming is a new edition of the Versuch
einer neuen Theorie des menschlichen Vorstellungsvermögens (Felix Meiner
Verlag, in 2 Vols.);
- Neo-Platonism, forthcomming is new edition of the Stoicheiosis Theologike
with Greek text and German translation (Felix Meiner Verlag).
