This is the website of a Hebrew translation of a selection from George Orwell's essays. The book contains some of Orwell's most well-known essays, only a few of which had previously appeared in Hebrew. All the essays are translated from The Complete Works of George Orwell, edited by Peter Davison (Secker & Warburg 1998), and contain historical annotations by Dr. Giora Goodman, who also wrote an extensive biographical introduction.

Dr. Giora Goodman is a historian of Britain and the United States in the 20th century. He also researches the history of the media in the 19th and 20th centuries. He lectures at Kinneret academic college, Western Galilee college and Tel Aviv University.
Yoad Winter-Seggev is a linguist at Utrecht University.
